Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer will serve as the technical voice on the Sales team, combining technical expertise with sales skills to effectively sell complex products and services. This role involves understanding product capabilities and client needs, preparing and delivering technical presentations, collaborating with sales teams, and providing pre-sale support through labor estimates for customer RFQs. The Sales Engineer bridges the gap between technical solutions and client requirements, explaining features in terms of business value and ensuring solutions meet customer challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary resource for technical support to the sales team and assist in closing deals.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to explain processes to current and potential customers.
• Prepare labor quotes based on customer-provided drawings, BOMs, and Statements of Work.
• Collaborate with customers and sales teams to determine requirements and match them with the right processes.
• Build strong relationships with clients by acting as a trusted technical advisor.
• Stay informed about industry news, products, services, and competitors to provide optimal solutions.
• Perform all responsibilities with an awareness of AS9100, ISO, and departmental requirements.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Customer service oriented.
• Understanding of engineering design and technical aspects of PCBAs.
• Confident communication and presentation skills.
• Technical sales and engineering knowledge.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Preference for experience with PCBs, even at a technician level.
• Ability to communicate effectively between engineering, sales, and clients.

Work Environment:

The Sales Engineer will work primarily in the Sales area of the Hillsboro facility, with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor. The manufacturing operations are located on the bottom floor, while the Sales team occupies offices on the top floor. The engineering team is composed of about eight engineers, fostering a small company culture rather than a large corporate environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Hillsboro, OR.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $41.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
