The Redmond Campus Safety Support position provides campus safety services and support to campus stakeholders and the community in the evening during the academic year. The position patrols COCC campuses to monitor and ensure the safety of staff, students, and the public community members by enforcing parking and policy regulations, assisting with facility lock/unlock requests, assisting with safety audits, and assisting with limited data entry, such as completion of work orders. Note: This is not a law enforcement position, this is not a security position, this is a campus safety position.

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. The individual is expected to follow College work rules and policies.
The position works Monday through Thursday afternoons and evenings. May be required to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the campus safety needs of COCC. The Campus Safety Staff position requires the incumbent to safely operate a motor vehicle, walk, reach, bend, climb or pull self upward, kneel, stoop, crawl, run at a moderate pace for short distances, crouch, and perform similar functions while patrolling campus and campus facilities. Exposure to inclement weather and safety hazards exists as well as possible threats of physical harm. Requires prolonged periods of walking indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and on hard level surfaces and up and down stairs. Position involves extended standing and walking, and some lifting weighing 10-50 pounds as well as the potential for rescue assistance of persons who may be unconscious and require moving. A computer is used less than 25 percent of the time. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Persons in this position may be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials. All employees identified as having the potential for this exposure will be offered the hepatitis B vaccination at no cost. The employee has the right to waive these inoculations.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: One year of experience with customer support, emergency response, safety education, or policy adherence. One year of experience in report writing and communications.

Education: Associate's degree
Experience: Six months' experience in a campus safety setting.
License: Valid state Class "C" driver's license or the ability to obtain an Oregon Driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
