The intern will develop a proof-of-concept automation tool for bare-metal server provisioning workflows. Specifically, they will:
This is a defined project with clear deliverables that complements existing systems without replacing production responsibilities.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and bare-metal provisioning technologies used in production cloud environments. Practical Go/C/C++/Linux development skills building system-level tooling. Exposure to Linux system administration, boot processes, and hardware management protocols (PXE, IPMI/Redfish). Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), and test automation frameworks. Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design patterns. Agile/Scrum development practices including sprint planning, code reviews, and working with distributed teams. Mentorship from senior engineers on production IaaS infrastructure.
