Human Resources Director

Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and oversee HR operations in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives, manage HR functions, and collaborate with senior leadership to align workforce practices with organizational goals. This position requires a proactive approach to fostering a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term human resources and health and safety programs to support organizational objectives.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and safety initiatives through management of HR teams.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to address complex human resource challenges and provide strategic solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental projects, offering expertise in HR management and organizational development.
  • Revise and create safety policies and procedures to enhance workplace safety standards.
  • Participate in investigations of workplace incidents and accidents, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to company-wide HR initiatives, including wellness programs, employee development, and benefits optimization.
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures that uphold legal compliance and align with corporate goals.
  • Work with senior leadership to plan and allocate resources for projects, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with business priorities.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by managing projects that enhance HR processes, reporting, and overall performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in employee relations and HR administration.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation, benefits, and wellness programs.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems to manage and maintain employee data.
  • Experience in onboarding and training programs to support workforce development.
  • Ability to handle complex HR challenges with innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures in a corporate environment.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
