Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Global Trade & Standby Services (GTSS) and Foreign Exchange (FX) operations team, specializing in Commercial Letters of Credit (CLOC) and trade-related payment processing. This role is critical for ensuring accurate and timely execution of international trade transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payments, exceptions, discounts, reimbursement claims, and all supporting activities for the Commercial Letters of Credit (CLOC) payment team.
  • Handle GTSS products such as Import/Export Letters of Credit, documentary collections, banker's acceptances, and Standby Letters of Credit.
  • Manage FX products including international remittances/payments, settlements, and investigations.
  • Review, execute, and reconcile transactions and related documentation, ensuring compliance with established service levels, policies, and government regulations.
  • Examine trade-related documents to guarantee payment conditions under Letters of Credit.
  • Apply knowledge of ICC Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), ICC Incoterms (2010โ€“2020), and other international trade rules for shipping and freight.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues and maintain smooth transaction flows.
  • Adapt to different systems, processes, and product levels while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of international banking products, payment services, foreign exchange, and general bank operating policies and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and client servicing skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve errors and complex issues with minimal guidance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with trade-related documentation and compliance standards (UCP 600, ICC Incoterms)
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Location Expectations:

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days. Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in or near Saint Paul, MN and Gresham, OR

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $27.50 - $36.68
