Eligible for cmh employee referral bonus: non priority recruitment performs a variety of routine duties related to preparation and serving of food and preparation of/serving espresso and other beverages; cleans kitchen area, work areas and cooking utensils/equipment clean. Performs a variety of routine duties related to direct patient care, preparation of menus, recording percentage of food intake by patient, serving food to patients, stocking kitchen areas and facilitating communication between the patient, medical staff and the kitchen staff.

job requirements knowledge of/skill/ability to: ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures. knowledge of food and beverage preparation, including barista techniques and procedures. must be able to follow recipes and preparation instructions. able to perform simple computations and record keeping. must be able to adequately and proficiently run a cash register.

license/certification: current food handlers certificate or able to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire. passes exams on all therapeutic content areas by completion of probationary period, and annually.

education and/or experience: high school or equivalent; on-the-job training. previous barista or food service experience preferred.

physical demands and work environment conditions / ada compliance moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.), frequent prolonged standing/walking. subject to burns and cuts; exposed to hot and humid work environment; exposed to hazards of steam and heat; exposed to odors in kitchen and/or patient areas; exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements. position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials. requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard, cash register and common office equipment.
