Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

  • Install CO2 monitors at customer sites using CAT 5 cabling.
  • Drive to different locations using personal vehicle; mileage will be compensated.
  • Pick up necessary materials from the shop or depot.
  • Utilize various tools such as drills, wire snips, pliers, and crimps.
  • Ensure accurate installation and documentation of work using a smartphone.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues independently.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain installation procedures and system operations.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in light construction, mechanical, or electrical fields.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and servicing equipment.
  • Ability to use power tools effectively.
  • Proficient in using a smartphone for GPS navigation and documentation.
  • Experience in customer interaction and service.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Low voltage or light electrical experience preferred.
  • Experience with DIY projects.
  • Ability to document mileage and expenses accurately.

Work Environment

The position involves a lot of independent troubleshooting and decision-making on-site. Technicians will work alone after completing a training period lasting a few weeks. The role requires interaction with clients, responding to their inquiries regarding system installations. The work schedule is from 7am to 3pm, with occasional visits to the Portland office to gather materials. There is no requirement for on-call work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
