Field Service Technician

We're seeking a Field Service Technician to install CO₂ monitoring systems at customer sites in compliance with new safety regulations. This position involves light low-voltage work similar to fire alarm installations in commercial settings. You'll work independently across diverse locations—restaurants, gas stations, and commercial buildings—using CAT 5 cabling and basic hand tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to install CO₂ monitors and related equipment.
  • Perform light low-voltage wiring using CAT 5 cabling.
  • Pick up materials from the shop or depot and transport them to job sites.
  • Install small electronic boxes near CO₂ tanks using tools such as drills, wire snips, pliers, and crimps.
  • Ensure clean, precise wire runs and accurate installations.
  • Document work with GPS and photos using a smartphone.
  • Track mileage for reimbursement through Aerotek's expense system.
  • Communicate with customers, explaining installation purposes and answering questions.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in light construction, mechanical, or electrical work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently on-site.
  • Comfortable driving up to 400 miles per week for work.
  • Strong documentation skills using a smartphone.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Low-voltage or light electrical experience.
  • Handy DIY skills and familiarity with basic tools.
  • Comfortable using smartphones for navigation and reporting.

Work Environment & Schedule

Independent, field-based role with significant travel. Training provided for the first few weeks; then work independently. Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
