Environmental Service Attendant

As an Environmental Service Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas within the facility. You will perform cleaning tasks according to established standards, ensuring all areas meet sanitary guidelines. Your role is essential in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect assigned areas during shifts and make necessary corrections for cleanliness.
  • Follow departmental and hospital guidelines to ensure facility cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Perform cleaning tasks as outlined in the task list, adhering to Environmental Services Standards.
  • Clean toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, walls, furniture, and other interior furnishings using appropriate supplies and procedures.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and dust floors of assigned areas.
  • Transport, remove, and dispose of soiled linen, trash, and bio-medical waste appropriately.
  • Label and remove infectious waste bags and containers.
  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies in assigned areas and transport custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain cleaning equipment, reporting any issues to ensure functionality.
  • Foster positive working relationships with patients, guests, and other caregivers.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance the environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Report necessary repairs or services to hospital facilities.
  • Perform special cleaning projects and various types of floor care as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Prior cleaning and housekeeping experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Punctuality and reliability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2 months of prior customer service experience.
  • Ability to explain any gaps in employment.

Work Environment

This position is located in Bend, Oregon, and requires working the graveyard shift from 11 pm to 7:30 am. The work environment is within the Environmental Services Department, focused on maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment. Employees are required to wear scrubs and non-slip shoes. Two company shirts will be provided, along with a badge. Please note that any company property must be returned upon termination of employment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bend, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.11 - $25.14/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
