Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to a variety of exciting projects. You will play a crucial role in the development of electrical schematics and construction permitting documents. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of electrical schematics and electrical construction permitting documents.
  • Conduct project site visits for data collection and analysis of electrical systems for design and system evaluations.
  • Perform technical calculations related to load demand, voltage drop, conductor, and conduit sizing.
  • Coordinate with utility companies for new and upgraded utility services.
  • Review project construction activities and progression.
  • Write technical reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project owners/managers, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with internal design team members and project managers.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related sciences field from an ABET accredited program.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical and/or integration & controls (I&C) consulting field.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit drafting software.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • EIT certification.
  • Experience with SKM, EasyPower, or similar power system study software.
  • Knowledge of MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Visual, AGI, or similar photometric analysis software.
  • Knowledge of state of Oregon and Washington Energy Code, California Title 24 knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to follow specific project task-oriented direction.
  • Ability to multi-task and address needs of 2 to 3 projects concurrently.
  • Ability to travel to project sites (estimated 10% travel time).
  • Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily based in an office environment with some client site visits. A hybrid work option may be available depending on the candidate's level of experience. The company offers a flexible work schedule with daily hours between 6 am and 6 pm, as well as telecommuting options for part of the workweek.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of the Portland/Beaverton, Oregon area. Local talent requested, unless you are relocating to the area immediately.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
