We are looking for: We are seeking a mechanical services advisor with experience in administration, estimation, and customer service. You will be part of an administrative team responsible for coordinating the workflow of our automotive technicians. Your role will involve researching parts, preparing estimates, creating purchase orders, and ensuring the production timelines for our six technicians are met. The ideal candidate has 2 to 3 years of experience as a technical advisor.

Your mission:

• Respond to customer requests, gather information on vehicles and required services, and ensure each client receives prompt, effective, and courteous attention.
• Promote Openlane's mechanical services to auction clients, recommend necessary or value-added repairs, and coordinate the repair process if approved.
• Estimate the cost of mechanical repairs (materials, supplies, and labor) accurately for dealers and retail and commercial clients, in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs) and company procedures.
• Prepare repair orders, including the description of authorized work and services.
• Consult with technicians regarding diagnostics, recommended work, and pre- and post-sale inspection status.
• Perform all administrative tasks related to workshop operations: preparing estimates, obtaining client approvals, ordering parts, invoicing, entering charges into the AMS system, and other data entries.
• Act as a liaison for the workshop during arbitration processes, in collaboration with Openlane's claims department.

The essentials:

• 2 to 3 years of experience as an automotive technical advisor.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and respond to multiple requests simultaneously.
• Bilingual in French and English - This role requires interaction with clients, executives, and colleagues in Quebec, other provinces, or other countries that may not speak French.

Plus:

• Previous experience or training as an automotive technician or apprentice.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to communicate effectively with customers and the technical team.
• Experience with the Mitchell estimation system.
• Proficiency with Google Suite.
