✨ About The Role
- Design, build, and maintain foundational systems that engineers use to build ChatGPT and the API
- Drive the development and implementation of tools, systems, and processes to accelerate engineering velocity and increase output quality
- Collaborate with various teams within OpenAI to understand workflows, challenges, and needs to address them effectively
- Partner with product engineers to lay technical foundations for new features and research capabilities
- Responsible for the reliability of the systems built, including participating in an on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced engineer with a background in infrastructure building and tooling for developers, ideally with 5+ years of experience
- Strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a track record of building inclusive teams
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes, able to add structure and order when necessary
- Excellent communicator with the ability to share learnings clearly and concisely with others
- Intrinsic desire to learn and fill in missing skills, while also guiding and advising product engineering teams on best practices
