Within Applied Engineering, the Financial Engineering team ensures that our diverse products are monetized effectively to accommodate customers' varying needs and scales. Collaborating closely with the GTM and Finance teams, we strive to tailor our billing stack to our evolving internal requirements.

We are seeking an experienced engineering manager to support centralizing a pricing & packaging platform to accelerate all OpenAI teams to ship products and monetize them.

In this role, you will:

• Have extensive engineering experience in software engineering, ideally with a background in payments, billing, or financial systems.

• Embrace continuous learning: stay curious and proactive in acquiring new skills and sharing knowledge across the team.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing engineering teams that deliver complex, high-quality products at scale.
• Strong technical background and proficiency in modern software engineering practices and system architecture.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to effectively coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.

Location: This role is in-person at our San Francisco office.
