Position overview:

The Email Marketing Specialist position will help build and manage promotional, transactional, and triggered email marketing campaigns and automated workflows. This position will also support audience segmentation, reporting, campaign optimization, and broader digital marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include managing SMS campaigns, implementing SMS strategies, analyzing campaign performance, ensuring timely execution of deliverables, and staying updated on industry trends. This role will collaborate regularly with other team members to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setup, scheduling, testing, proofing, and deployment of email campaigns.
  • Responsible for the building, scheduling, and deployment of promotional, triggered, and lifecycle email campaigns using Listrak's email and journey automation capabilities.
  • Maintain the email marketing calendar and coordinate campaign timing.
  • Review emails for accuracy, formatting, links, and overall quality before deployment.
  • Support updates to email templates, layouts, and content.
  • Run audience building and automation.
  • Facilitate the implementation of personalization strategies.
  • Develop audience segmentation and list management to improve targeting and engagement.
  • Maintain automated email workflows such as welcome emails, reminders, and re-engagement campaigns.
  • Execute ongoing list hygiene and subscriber management.
  • Track key campaign metrics including opens, clicks, conversions, and unsubscribes.
  • Prepare regular reporting and identify basic opportunities for improvement.
  • Support simple A/B testing efforts for subject lines, messaging, and send times.
  • Monitor deliverability and list health.
  • Follow best practices for email compliance and subscriber engagement.
  • Maintain a clean and engaged email database.
  • Coordinate with CRM partners responsible for loyalty communications and testing.
  • Import and manage data feeds into Listrak.
  • Attend weekly meetings for different business needs within the organization.
  • Work closely with creative, merchandising, loyalty, and analytics teams to align email execution with broader marketing initiatives.
  • Actively participate in training sessions both virtual and in-person.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Marketing Manager and/or Senior Director of Customer Relationship Marketing & Loyalty.

SMS & Push Notifications:

  • Setup, schedule, test, proof, and deploy SMS campaigns and Push notifications.
  • Develop engaging and impactful messaging for SMS text messages and Push notifications that adhere to compliance standards.
  • Maintain the SMS/Push marketing calendar and coordinate campaign timing.
  • Import and manage data feeds into Listrak.
  • Review SMS and Push messages for accuracy, formatting, links, and overall quality before deployment.
  • Ensure that messages adhere to brand style, tone, and proper message structure.
  • Implement segmentation and personalization strategies.
  • Implement structured A/B testing for SMS program.
  • Analyze program performance.
  • Continuously improve the customer journey.
  • Assist with the setup of new acquisition campaigns and monitor performance.
  • Actively participate in training sessions both virtual and in-person.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in email marketing supporting retail, ecommerce, or loyalty marketing programs.
  • Experience working in an ESP environment, ideally Listrak or a retail focused automation platform.
  • Familiarity with email metrics, campaign testing, and basic performance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of HTML based emails, Liquid Script, and email QA best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and campaign execution discipline.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines for multiple channels.
  • 2+ year experience in SMS and/or Push notification marketing.
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, improve, and grow within the role.
  • Understanding of email automation, segmentation, and logic.
  • Familiarity with email and SMS best practices.
  • Experience working with CRM systems or customer databases.
  • Experience supporting retail, ecommerce, or loyalty marketing programs.
  • Exposure to automated email journeys or lifecycle campaigns.
  • Comfort working with customer data, segments, and behavioral triggers.
  • Willingness to collaborate in a hybrid work environment with cross functional partners.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
  • Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
  • Ability to bend and twist occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
