Job Description
Step out of the ordinary and into a fast-paced, dynamic role where no two days are the same. As a key supervisor on our Off-Site Catering Team, you'll bring exceptional food, service, and energy to events across the city — assisting the management team at elegant weddings, private dinners, high-profile corporate functions, and brand activations.
Under the direction of the Direct Manager, the Event Supervisor helps manage event setup, oversees service on the floor, and supports the team in delivering a polished guest experience. This is a leadership-in-training position designed for individuals looking to grow into an Event Manager role, while still maintaining the flexibility to work server or bartender shifts when not scheduled in a supervisory capacity.
The Day to Day:
- Communicate a clear vision to all team members and lead by example
- Reinforce Oliver & Bonacini's core values daily, inspiring the team with a forward-thinking and engaging leadership style
- Support the management team in all aspects of event execution and coordination
- Lead a team of servers and bartenders during events, responding to guest needs and operational challenges as they arise
- Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, colleagues, and senior leadership
- Foster a culture centered around exceptional guest experiences, with a passion for food and wine
- Apply effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
- Assist with the preparation, setup, and ongoing maintenance of event spaces
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of event menu offerings to confidently assist guests and make recommendations
- Follow all bar, beverage, and wine control procedures with precision
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests to ensure efficient, high-quality service
- Deliver food and beverages to the appropriate tables as directed by the management team
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by clearing tableware and returning items to the dish area
- Monitor and uphold food quality and presentation standards throughout the event
- Consistently meet the O&B technical service standards and attention to detail expectations
- Adhere to all Oliver & Bonacini health, safety, and sanitation protocols
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful event execution
Qualifications
- Successful candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to travel independently to and from off-site event locations in Toronto. (Event Locations outside of Toronto- transportation is provided).
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in catering or restaurant setting (preferred)
- Valid Smart Serve Certificate required
- Ability to life 30lbs
- Ability to stand for prolong periods
- Strong understanding of service standards and guest experience expectations
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Ability to stay composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Events may take place across the city and surrounding areas, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
