IES Network Engineering Team Opportunity

The IES Network Engineering team maintains a robust and highly available infrastructure spanning US and global data centers and OCI regions for both IES and OHAI environments. The Firewall Network Engineering team enables secure customer access while protecting Oracle's environments and customer data. System availability is paramount in this role, with "Ensuring Site UP" being the top organizational priority. To deliver against availability requirements, we need experienced Network Development Engineers with deep understanding of firewall platforms, networking fundamentals, automation, and standardization methodologies.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

  • Design, configure, and manage firewall infrastructure to support highly available, scalable network environments
  • Oversee end-to-end lifecycle management of network hardware and software, including procurement, deployment, patching, and retirement
  • Ensure financial efficiency through optimal "right sizing" of infrastructure components

Automation & Operations

  • Automate network provisioning and configuration using scripting tools such as Python and Ansible
  • Implement proactive monitoring solutions to track network performance, security incidents, and system health
  • Design and implement reporting and analytics measuring performance against OKRs, KPIs, and associated SLAs/OLAs

Security & Compliance

  • Lead network security efforts by continuously assessing vulnerabilities and implementing remediation
  • Assist Audit/Compliance Engineering partners with vulnerability risk assessments and remediation plans
  • Participate in Live-Site Engineering reviews of design plans, planned changes, and maintenance plans

Strategic Planning & Improvement

  • Evaluate new network components and technologies for potential adoption into Live Site environments
  • Develop implementation strategies for integrating new components with minimal operational disruption
  • Lead continuous improvement and engineering discipline maturity through Root Cause Analysis and Problem Avoidance
  • Architect system demands and requirements into technical solutions

Support & Escalation

  • Provide escalation support for network incidents and participate in on-call rotation
  • Assess and review new network component candidates for standards adoption and Live Site implementation

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
