The Field Service Technician will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair refuse collection vehicles out in the field, specifically our refuse collection vehicles. Will be responsible for training other technicians in order to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of proper repair techniques. Will train the right person who is willing to travel and learn new technologies as well as diagnostic techniques. This job is very travel heavy - you do get a per diem every day you're on the road, plus you're eligible for overtime pay. You will get your own work vehicle - perfect for those who like to work on their own.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: + This position will be based in the field and require daily travel within assigned territories. + Technicians will be provided a company vehicle and a company Fuel Card to pay for vehicle expenses. + Must be able to be insured by McNeilus + 90% Travel
+ Conduct all aspects of advance repairs on all our refuse collection vehicles + Train other technicians by assisting them with troubleshooting and accurate way of searching for parts. + Inspect and troubleshoot different types of vehicles to determine a resolution. + Assist technicians with Quality Control issues when necessary. + Continuously maintaining a safe and orderly work environment. + Maintain one's own service truck maintained in good working order, clean and presentable.
+ High School Diploma or GED and three (3) or more years of relevant experience in machine assembly, light fabrication; or previous relevant contracting experience with Oshkosh Corporation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role. + Valid driver's license must be maintained at all times. + Ability to possess a CDL/DOT card. + Advanced electrical and diagnostic experience or certifications + Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and the ability to read and understand schematics. + Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills
+ Experience as a Field Service Technician. + Experience with welding and hydraulic systems. + Experience in mentoring and training others. + CDL license

Pay Range: $56,600.00 - $88,400.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
