Job Description

We're seeking a visionary Vice President, Technical Operations & Asset Performance to lead our global Center of Excellence (COE) focused on driving world-class performance in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), asset reliability, and technical innovation across our manufacturing network.

This executive role will lead a team of subject matter experts in glass melting, forming, and finished product technologies - setting global standards, scaling best practices, and delivering measurable improvements in uptime, energy efficiency, and cost performance. You'll be at the forefront of our transformation journey, shifting operational accountability to regional teams while ensuring global alignment and excellence.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead Global TPM Strategy: Oversee the design and execution of a global Total Productive/Preventive Maintenance system across all manufacturing sites.
  • Drive Asset Reliability: Implement predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, and automated inspection systems to maximize uptime and performance.
  • Scale Innovation: Integrate cutting-edge technologies in digitalization, automation, and energy management across regions.
  • Optimize Energy & Materials: Use data analytics to reduce energy consumption, improve raw material efficiency, and enhance product quality.
  • Project Leadership: Blend internal and external capabilities to manage major capital projects (e.g., furnace builds, forming and inspection equipment).
  • Standardize Excellence: Establish global standards for process control, safety, and environmental compliance through the COE.
  • Foster Collaboration: Facilitate cross-site knowledge sharing and replication of high-impact practices.
  • Align with Business Goals: Ensure all initiatives support broader objectives in sustainability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in multi-site, heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Proven success deploying TPM programs and improving equipment reliability.
  • Expertise in digital transformation, automation, and energy optimization.
  • Experience managing capital project portfolios exceeding $100M.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a track record of delivering measurable results.
  • Ability to lead global teams, influence across functions, and drive change in complex environments.
  • Background in glass or packaging manufacturing is a plus.

Reporting Relationships:

  • This role will report to the Chief Supply Chain Officer

Travel Requirements:

20-30%

Additional Information

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $250K & $300K. Additionally, this position will have the opportunity to earn 30% STI and 35% LTI. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
