Career Services Coordinator - Nisonger Center

The job coach will provide employment coaching to program participants with disabilities in learning workplace and job readiness skills such as appropriate workplace behaviors, understanding workplace culture, teaching skills related to job tasks, and educating and supporting an employer and their team. The job coach will collect media and data on participant activities and skill development at various job sites, retrieve and update data from participants and transfer information into computer files or data-based systems. The Job Coach collaborates with the Career Specialist to teach small class sessions (approximately 10 participants) and provides individualized support in developing personal portfolios and video résumés. The job coach will assist in billing documentation for state agencies' reimbursement.

Candidate will have the opportunity to support grant writing or funding activities, conference presentations, and program research, should these activities be desired.

Minimum Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. College degree in the field of human services (e.g., education, rehabilitation, social work) or experience working with youth or adults with intellectual disability.

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate will work in a variety of job environments due to coaching students and will need to adapt accordingly (communication styles, expectations, attire, etc.). Some evening and weekend shifts may be needed, if so, flexible workdays are available.

Reliable transportation is required as coaching may need to occur off site in the Columbus area. Mileage will be reimbursed. Some evening and weekend shifts may be needed, if so, flexible workdays are available.

Additional Information:

75% - Provides job coaching, data collection, classroom teaching, billing assistance and duties with TOPS students at various worksites locations.

10% - Assists TOPS students navigate to/from worksites

5% - Participate in person-centered meetings

10% - Other duties as assigned
