As a Service Technician, you'll be at the heart of what we do: diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Caterpillar hydraulic components in the shop. Whether it's a final drive, transmission, or torque converter, you'll use your skills and experience to deliver top-tier service that keeps our customers moving. You will work in the shop servicing and performing: diagnostics and repair on various heavy equipment components, including Caterpillar drive-train components and hydraulic systems. Perform routine and complex repairs, inspect and maintain equipment, and rebuild components to ensure optimal performance. Additional duties include maintaining detailed service records, collaborating with fellow technicians on complex repairs, and adhering to all safety protocols within the shop environment.
Competencies: proficient reading and writing skills, strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude, basic computer literacy, familiarity with Caterpillar component lines listed above, in-depth knowledge of Caterpillar component applications, operations, and functions, skilled in using Caterpillar diagnostic tools (Electronic Technician, Service Information System), expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures.
Job Qualifications: high school diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment and components.

Physical Requirements: lifting/carrying 40 lb. lift/carry and 50lb pulling, standing/sitting up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines, dexterity normal, repetitive motions: frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
