Senior Hr Generalist

We are looking for a dedicated Senior HR Generalist to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity, offering a chance to contribute to a dynamic environment within the manufacturing and warehouse distribution sector. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in employee relations, payroll, and union experience, while actively supporting the HR Manager in various strategic and operational tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive workplace environment.
  • Oversee payroll operations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in union meetings and support union-related matters, collaborating closely with the HR Manager.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure a seamless integration for new hires.
  • Administer benefits programs and assist employees with enrollment and inquiries.
  • Utilize HRIS systems, including Workday, for maintaining employee records and generating reports.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures to managers and staff.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Travel to a nearby location once a month to support HR-related activities, as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in human resources, preferably within manufacturing or warehouse distribution environments.
  • Familiarity with union processes and the ability to work effectively in unionized settings.
  • Proficiency in payroll management and related systems.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, particularly Workday.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations practices and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage diverse HR functions.
  • Detail-oriented demeanor with the ability to work fully onsite.
  • Willingness to travel once a month to a location approximately 1.5 hours away.
