Peer Recovery Support Specialist – St. Rita's Medical Center

The Peer Recovery Specialist provides direct patient care under the supervision of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH).

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitates individual and/or support groups (within scope) and may participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.
  • Provides post-discharge follow-up, along with community resource knowledge and navigation.
  • Delivers overdose prevention and education on Naloxone utilization.
  • Participates in continued education and in-service training.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED (required)

Licensing & Certifications:

  • Certified Peer Specialist per state guidelines (required)
  • National Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (preferred)

Experience:

  • 1 year in healthcare, social services or human services setting (required)
