 
                                                
                                            The Maintenance Manufacturing Engineer Tech is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of plant assets. They define and lead processes and systems for providing a proper response to failures and quality repairs to the equipment by specifying repairs and modifications to equipment. Responsibilities and duties include developing maintenance procedures, methods, and testing; supporting craftsmen performing all facets of maintenance work and responding to equipment faults; troubleshooting equipment breakdowns; specifying replacement parts and ensuring the equipment is functioning correctly; assisting planners in the development of work packages; inspecting jobs to verify the work is performed correctly; partnering with other departments and customers, specifically other engineering and production teams; developing processes to manage maintenance tools and equipment; monitoring and controlling maintenance costs; leading responses for emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs; driving improvements in health and safety policies and procedures; leading improvement to maintenance methods and safety of plant, personnel, and production processes; providing skill-based training to craftsmen on specific equipment in the plant and general skill-based knowledge; programming programmable logic controllers (PLC), and distributed control system (DCS) (electrical); developing installation and commissioning packages for new installations.
Measurement of position performance includes providing timely technical support to supervisors and trades, improving mean time to repair (MTTR), extending mean to between failure (MTBF), additions and corrections to spare parts as required, and executing PM & PdM program on time as planned.
Position goals include technical support to the maintenance staff (supervisors and trades), ensuring the maintenance function provides operations with the service it requires, executing PM & PdM program as scheduled, addressing corrective actions, minimizing MTTR and operational downtime by supporting equipment repair right the first time.
The Maintenance ME Tech works closely with operations and maintenance supervision, planners and scheduler, stores and purchasing personnel, maintains good working relationships with maintenance trades, coordinates asset management activities with reliability engineers, and works with other organizational units such as HR and accounting.
Requirements, qualifications, and selection criteria include a mechanical/electrical engineering degree or significant experience with a tech school background desired, an understanding of equipment operation, an understanding of equipment repair practices, ability to use a CMMS and analyze data, and training in industrial automation.
