Manager – Operations I

The Role

The Manager – Operations I leads a large-scale transportation team to achieve service, safety and financial goals through effective staff development, operational oversight and driver management. This role supports business performance by ensuring compliance, cost control and accurate execution of account-specific procedures. This role will directly support a Dollar Tree account.

Shift: Friday - Monday 6 am - 3 pm, occasional Saturdays as needed.

Compensation: Starting wages (pay bi-weekly). A final amount is dependent on factors including prior relevant experience, knowledge, and location. Typically, selected candidates are hired at a rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership – Manage 2–3 operations personnel and 30–50 drivers to achieve departmental goals and company targets.
  • Staff Development – Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching, support and performance management.
  • Training & Onboarding – Oversee training of new supervisors and drivers and ensure successful onboarding of new customer accounts.
  • Operational Oversight – Define, document and enforce account-specific standard operating procedures.
  • Driver Management – Lead driver retention efforts by promoting morale, safety, customer service and efficient equipment utilization.
  • Equipment Compliance – Oversee scheduling and compliance of maintenance and repairs for all company-owned equipment.
  • Service Delivery – Ensure consistent on-time service to customers across all accounts.
  • Financial Accountability – Maintain direct responsibility for profit and loss performance.
  • Budget Management – Ensure effective cost control and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Payroll & Billing Accuracy – Maintain accurate billing and payroll aligned with contracted rates and driver wages.
  • Accountability & Reliability – Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Transportation Experience & Management Experience

This position will be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) with a target payout of 10% of the annual base salary.

The work location for each position will be decided during the hiring process, based on business needs and job requirements.
