Job Summary: As a Field Service Technician – Rapid Response, you'll be at the heart of what we do: diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining Caterpillar machines out in the field. Whether it's a dozer, excavator, wheel loader, or haul truck, you'll use your skills and experience to deliver top-tier service that keeps our customers moving. You will work out of a company service truck servicing and performing:
Competencies: Must have strong capabilities related to using Caterpillar diagnostic tools ET and SIS (Electronic Technician, Service Information System). In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions. Capable of working independently in the field. Proficient reading and writing skills. Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude. Basic computer literacy. Familiarity with Caterpillar engine and equipment lines. Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures. Welding experience is a plus.
Job Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in repairing diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, hydraulics, and industrial equipment. Driver's License with an acceptable driving record following Ohio CAT standards.
