Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to perform comprehensive system diagnostics and troubleshooting for multi-symptom issues, install, configure, and test laser marking equipment at customer sites, and conduct preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure peak system performance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform system diagnostics and troubleshooting for multi-symptom issues.
• Install, configure, and test laser marking equipment at customer sites.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure peak system performance.
• Manage logistics for field service visits, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
• Maintain communication with customers, coworkers, and management regarding equipment status and service needs.
• Assist in design/process improvements when needed.
• Provide technical phone support to customers and internal teams.
• Work independently or collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

Essential Skills:

• Proficient in PC usage, productivity software, and custom applications.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with an understanding of AC/DC fundamentals.
• Field service experience with installation, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in commissioning and PLC programming, particularly with Allen-Bradley systems.
• Minimum of 5 years in field service, electrical, or mechanical technician roles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Technical certifications or associate degree/bachelor's degree are preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and software interfaces.
• PLC troubleshooting experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

This role involves travel approximately 75% of the time domestically, with occasional opportunities to travel to Canada or Mexico. The work environment is laid back, with management providing support and flexibility. The equipment you will work on is innovative and engaging.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chillicothe, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
