This Engineer III position will manage the Division of Power (DOP) Engineering Distribution group responsible for electrical substations, distribution, and transmission. The position will oversee lower level engineers and paraprofessional staff. This group will manage capital improvement projects for power distribution, perform calculations and testing to resolve issues on the existing power grid, review plans impacting DOP facilities, assist in designing for customer service requests, monitor the existing grid utilizing SCADA, and assist in developing the program for long term maintenance and improvement of the DOP power grid.
Preferred Qualifications: Electrical engineering degree or experience in power substation and/or distribution design.
Under direction, is responsible for performing difficult to complex professional engineering work and/or supervising professional and technical engineering staff; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work:
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a valid State of Ohio certificate as a registered Professional Engineer and three (3) years of professional engineering experience which includes one (1) year of supervisory experience over Professional Engineers or engineering projects. Specialization in the discipline for which appointment is being made may be required for some positions and will be incorporated in the job postings, as appropriate. Possession of a valid driver's license.
Special Note: Professional experience is defined as responsible and significant engineering work performed after registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.).
