Customer Service Specialist

The Muskingum County Library System is seeking a full time Customer Service Specialist who will supervise the Roseville Branch Library. Location: Roseville Branch, 41 N Main St. Roseville, Ohio Salary: $18.31 to $19.92 per hour (40 hours per week, varied schedule) Closing Date: November 5, 2025

Job Responsibilities: Under general supervision of the Branch Services Coordinator, provides library customer service in a variety of settings, which includes being responsible for operations and staff of the Roseville Branch Library.

Qualifications: High School diploma, Computer & Customer service experience, Valid State of Ohio driver's license. Preferred: 2 years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of library collection and reference materials, Knowledge of Windows operating systems, various software packages and general networking applications, Knowledge of emerging technology (i.e. scanners, MP3 players, job search sites, etc.), Ability to apply supervisory principles to practical situations, Ability to define problems and suggest solutions, Ability to set priorities, Ability to establish a cooperative work environment system-wide, develop and maintain good working relationships with library customers, supervisors and co-workers, Ability to prepare meaningful, concise and accurate reports, Ability to maintain confidentiality of confidential and sensitive subject matter, Skill in handling small sums of money and making change, Skill in communicating effectively with library customers.
