What You'll Do:

• Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education.
• Provides instruction in food service and individual assistance.
• Assesses educational needs of inmates.
• Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training.
• Provides instruction and individual assistance.
• Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators.
• Maintains discipline and/or security.
• Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress).
• Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed.
• Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials.
• Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development performs other duties as assigned.

Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech - food service & grade level as assigned*; Teacher 1, 71461, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement; NOTE: Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
