Stationary Engineer 2

Pay ranges from approximately $53,000 to $70,000. Starting pay will be based on qualifications, education, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as lead worker over lower-level powerhouse workers and/or inmates in installation, repair, maintenance, and operation of powerhouse equipment (e.g., boilers, furnaces, stokers, other fuel burning equipment, turbines, blowers, flow meters, pumps, generators, fans, pollution control equipment)
  • Makes rounds of powerhouse reading gauges, adjusting equipment, and observing operation of equipment
  • Starts, stops, and changes over-generating equipment as needed
  • Keeps powerhouse logs, recording gauge readings, fuel consumed, power generated
  • Maintains work performed, time card, and related records
  • Maintains security of inmates
  • Maintains inventory of parts and supplies and orders parts
  • Oversees and/or performs maintenance on area around powerhouse
  • Performs annual boiler inspection and maintenance
  • Serves on institutional committees
  • Attends training, seminars, and/or meetings as required
  • Performs security functions as required (e.g., man-down, shakedown, inmate movement)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Stationary Steam Engineer License pursuant to Section 4104.19, Revised Code; 6 mos. exp. as licensed stationary engineer. Job Skills: Trades, Engineering, HVACTrade, Regulatory Compliance, General Maintenance, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving, Flexibility, Time Management.
