Job Description: We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Engineer 3 within the Division of Water Resources, headquartered at Fountain Square, assigned to Franklin County. The address is 2045 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
What you will do…
- Act as project manager for assigned projects, including oversight of projects assigned to lower-level engineers
- Act as lead inspector and prepare written inspection reports for assigned projects
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to lower-level staff, consultants, dam owners, and public officials
- Investigate hazard potential for dams and make recommendations regarding hazard classification to program managers
- Attend and participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and other training opportunities to improve technical knowledge
- Starting hourly pay of $39.22/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $55.99/hr. There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.
Unusual Working Conditions: May be required to work hours outside of normal business hours in the office &/or in the field in the event of a dam safety or flooding emergency.

Qualifications: Certificate of registration as professional engineer issued by State Licensing Board AND 12 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Engineer 2, 85742 or 12 mos. equivalent related engineering experience. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.
