M365 Product Engineer (Infrastructure Specialist 4)

The M365 Product Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert and acts as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues within the agency. This role is responsible for designing, operating, and maintaining SharePoint Online and Power Platform environments, as well as security services and system components within the Microsoft Government Cloud (GCC). The position ensures highly available, secure, and scalable services while collaborating with stakeholders to align technology solutions with organizational goals. The engineer also plays a key role in driving innovation, supporting governance, and enabling productivity across the organization.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead design, implementation, management, and support of the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot, Power Pages).
  • Maintain the agency's Power Platform and SharePoint components within the M365 environment.
  • Advise on and support integration of Copilot and Agents within the M365 environment.
  • Create and maintain M365 reporting capabilities; provide data to management and auditors.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem resolution for the M365 environment and products.
  • Provide guidance and support to peers, lower-level staff, and county technical staff on delivered solutions.
  • Act as agency liaison for M365 support escalation.
  • Promote productivity and M365 adoption by identifying and addressing barriers; co-design solutions to meet business needs.
  • Ensure deployment and use of M365 aligns with agency standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Gather requirements and develop the M365 product stack to support various lines of business.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for M365 governance, security, and performance best practices.
  • Research and evaluate new M365 technologies and updates; report on impact to the organization.

Schedule: Full-time

Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Travel: Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

  • Core associate program in Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent work experience) AND
  • 4 years combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design. AND
  • 2 years technology related work experience as specified by the agency position description and vacancy/job posting (M365 Modern Workplace Solutions).

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio's OCSE A Pay Schedule, Pay Range 36. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $44.66 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
