Employment Services Coordinator

Office of Workforce Development: What You'll Do: In this position, you work with a team to assist the Office of Workforce Development systems (OhioMeansJobs.com, Advancement through Resources, Information, and Employment Services (ARIES), WIET, CFIS users. The users include the public, local area, and State staff.

Job Duties: Provide technical assistance and information to customers and team members. Serve as subject matter expert on the OWD systems. Collaborate with other teams to develop training support materials. Serve as a representative of the Workforce System Support unit. Provide customer service to OWD system users. Help local area and State staff by doing mass email blasts. Activities include determining the audience the message should go to, requesting the data from our data team (if applicable), adding the time and date of the eblast to your calendar and setting up the message in our ListServ system on that date.

Necessary Skills: Experience with federal/state employment program(s). Know how to access and read case information. Be thorough, detail-oriented, and well organized. Be able to independently manage multiple assignments with overlapping due dates. Prepare concise and accurate reports. Ability to multitask with reliable time management skills. Possess analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Schedule: The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Flex schedule may be available. Travel: Occasional travel may include overnight stays both in and out of state.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

  • 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in state & federal regulations governing implemented training &/or employment programs AND 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in public relations AND 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in human resources training & development programs AND 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in labor market data & employment trends AND 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in manpower planning AND 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of computer terminal &/or personal computer OR Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information: This position is in the State of Ohio's E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 31. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $27.92 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
