The Division of Medicaid Development and Administration works with state agency personnel and stakeholders to develop policies related to Medicaid funded services for people with developmental disabilities.
What will you do?
Under the general direction of the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) Operations Administrator, supervises accountant/examiners assigned to the DODD Support Center (e.g., makes recommendations for hire, assigns work & provides direction, reviews work & provides feedback, establishes goals & monitors & evaluates performance, encourages staff development, approves/disapproves leave requests, recommends discipline), coordinates program activities related to the resolution of inquiries received from program participants (county board staff, service providers, individuals/family members/guardians, &/or entities seeking to become service providers) pertaining to claims submission, reimbursement, & provider certification, monitors the operational needs of the Support Center (e.g., operator availability & system capacity in relation to call volume).
Educates program participants concerning policies, guidelines & procedures; trains support center staff on using the phone system, ticket tracking system, applications supporting provider reimbursement (i.e., Electronic Medicaid Billing System, Medicaid Services System, Medicaid Fiscal Intermediary, etc.) & customer service policies, standards & procedures; coaches support center staff to improve customer interactions & ensure accurate information is communicated to the public; performs qualitative monitoring of DODD Support Center activity to ensure that responses are timely, accurate & in accordance with all state & federal laws & regulations; supports & assists staff with inbound inquiries that require rule interpretation, fall outside of the established scope of DODD Support Center responsibility, &/or require referral to other units, offices, or agencies.
Responds to inquiries via telephone &/or written correspondence; prepares & maintains reports concerning unit activities & related program reports; designs &/or revises forms &/or on-line tools used in lieu of forms; issues final authorizations for payments or examines & verifies account transactions &/or completed actions. Serves as liaison with OBM Office of Shared Services to ensure availability & accuracy of provider information in the Ohio Administrative Knowledge System.
Conducts staff meetings; participates in meetings, training & other activities related to the operation of the DODD Support Center; performs other classification related duties as assigned.
Completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; 24 mos. exp. in accounting or in other fiscal/financial activity with exp. to be commensurate with duties to be assigned. -Or undergraduate core coursework in business administration, economics or computer science; 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting, 24 mos. exp. in position involving accounting, billings, collections, payments or reimbursements with exp. commensurate with duties to be assigned; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques. -Or 6 mos. as Accountant/Examiner Supervisor 1, 66115 with state government exp. commensurate with duties to be assigned. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
