This job is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of Environmental Services. Ensures operations are consistent with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing assigned facilities, and as directed by Hospital Administration, to ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

Education:

Required - High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred - Associate's Degree or higher

Work Experience:

Required - 5 years of experience in Environmental Services leadership

Certifications:

Preferred - Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional Certification (CHESP)

Healthcare Environmental and Hospitality Services Certificate

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Above

Job Duties:

  • Develops department quality plan and budget that supports the hospital and organizational goals.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial statements, data, and other financial information to ensure attainment of financial goals.
  • Monitors operations by scheduling planned meetings to each department in the hospital to plan projects, implement new processes, new technology, and to ensure sufficient communication.
  • Reviews and maintains reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provides strategic leadership to the respective departments within the hospital to maintain patient satisfaction.
  • Responsible for department succession planning, employee development, diversity initiatives, and training/constructive counseling.
  • Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
