Part-Time Operations Data Assistant Intern

The Operations Data Assistant Intern role (Part-Time) at Ocean State Job Lot ("OSJL" and "Company") is a temporary internship providing service and support to Operations analysts as well as field and store teams concerning reporting applications. This experiential internship role is part-time with flexible scheduling to accommodate continued academic pursuit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and submit regular reporting as assigned.
• Extract, transform, and load data from different sources to various destinations.
• Provide administrative, data entry and collection support to the Operations Analytics team.
• Provide service and support for field and store teams including, but not limited to, answering questions on reporting and routing issues as needed to appropriate company resources.
• Educate corporate, field and store teams on data interpretation and proper report use.
• Track common concerns and feedback on Operations reporting for future enhancements.
• Draft and send communications to field and store teams.
• Draft and maintain documentation for Store Operations reporting and processes.
• Update information and data maintained by Store Operations, including, but not limited to, assigned store data in the Master Data Management system.
• Update store sales and labor budgeting files with adjustments as approved by the Manager of Operations Planning & Analytics or Director of Store Support.
• Perform other administrative tasks to support the Manager of Operations Planning & Analytics and team analysts as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent college credits with a focus in data analytics or a related area is required.
• Experience in technical writing of business requirements is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational, presentation, and coordination skills are required.
• Ability to prioritize, work creatively, and perform tasks in solving problems in time-critical situations are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Proficiency with office productivity software, including Google Workspace (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Excel is required.
• Solid quantitative skills are required.
• Strong organizational agility skills to navigate complex environments are required.

Work Environment:

• Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard potential.
• Works in an office environment remaining stationary at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Frequently uses near vision for reading and computer tasks.
