Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead RAM Systems Engineer to identify Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) shortfalls in system level analysis/design and subsystem level predictions as applicable
  • Develop and integrate the analysis and data between the Failure Mode Causes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), RAM and Integrated Logistics Support Analysis (ILSA)
  • Provide RAM and FMECA Risk data to support design and operations trade studies and analysis and the program risk plan
  • Support fault event tree analysis and support the development of training and maintenance concepts, troubleshooting methods and maintenance manuals.
  • Assist in preparing system, segment, element, and equipment R&M specifications from top-level requirements.
  • Interface with system and element design engineers to identify R&M shortfalls in system level analysis/design and subsystem level predictions as applicable
  • Perform reliability and maintainability predictions and allocations for equipment using RAM software-based tools under the guidance of the Lead RAM systems engineer
  • Interpret statistical data derived from failure reporting programs and reliability demonstrations.
  • Complete predictions and be able to discuss R&M areas of improvements with design engineers.
  • Work closely with the Lead RAM Systems engineer and other engineering disciplines to verify reliability and availability requirements for systems though analyses such as, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and limited life item analysis for system, sub-system, functional (electrical/mechanical), component and device level.
  • Work with the Lead RMA systems Engineering to provide quantitative reliability inputs to trade studies based on reliability theory, including the impacts of the selected technology, applied stresses, quality, redundancy, temperature, wear-out, and environmental impacts.
