Reliability Engineer

As part of our reliability team, you will join a key role locally working closely with and reporting to the reliability team in Houston, USA – where you will have a strong and competent professional environment in your back. You will receive support from experienced colleagues who are passionate about reliability, system analysis, and technological innovation. At the same time, you will be an integrated part of our local NPD & ET team (New Product Development & Emerging Technologies), where you will collaborate closely with the different development teams and contribute directly to the design, qualification, and improvement of groundbreaking solutions.

The position is based on Forus.

Duties And Responsibilities

Your duties as a Reliability Engineer will include:

  • Contribute to and lead development programs for new technology by planning and implementing activities related to reliability and technology qualification.
  • Collaborate with development teams, both locally and globally, to ensure that reliability is integrated into the equipment through use of DfR (Design for Reliability) tools and methods.
  • Use RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) principles to develop maintenance strategies and optimize system availability.
  • Identify and validate test needs for new technology in the development process before it is launched on the market.
  • Lead workshops on TRL (Technology Readiness Levels) and TRC (Technical Risk Categorization) and FMECA (Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis).
  • Facilitate risk analysis workshops to identify and reduce potential hazards.
  • Analyze fault data from the field, manage data collection for reliability, and update FMECA and analyses to follow reliability development.
  • Develop models using methods such as RBD (Reliability Block Diagram), event tree analysis, fault tree analysis, and load-strength interference.
  • Identify needs and develop test plans to assess component robustness.
  • Prepare reports on reliability, availability, and maintainability.
  • Monitor tests, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an engineer.
  • Strong background in mathematics and statistics.
  • Experience in handling out-of-tolerance errors during production and/or operation.
  • Knowledge of processes for design, production, and reliability assessment in projects and/or operations.
  • Ability to develop and implement initiatives.

Preferred skills:

  • Master’s or doctoral degree as a Reliability Engineer.
  • Experience in leading FMECA workshops.
  • Experience in leading projects.
  • Experience in developing models for system reliability for repairable and non-repairable systems.
