Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team, with a focus on dam safety and hydroelectric power facilities design and analysis. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with 15-25 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in the hydropower industry. You’ll play a key leadership role in our Dam Safety and Hydraulic Structures practice, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to both technical excellence and business development. Preferred locations include our offices in Utica, NY or Henniker, NH, with consideration for candidates near Albany or Buffalo, NY. Remote candidates may be considered, but regular office visits and travel to project sites primarily in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic are expected.

Skills and Requirements:

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (MS preferred)
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• 15-25 years of structural engineering experience, ideally with:
• Dam safety inspections and FERC Part 12 reviews
• Hydropower facility design (penstocks, intakes, powerhouses, fish passage)
• Structural analysis of concrete and steel structures in water environments
• Related experience in bridges, retaining walls, deep foundations, etc.
• Structural analysis software (e.g., Visual Analysis, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA)
