Based in the heart of New York City, the company is transitioning from outsourced engineering to building a dedicated in-house team. This is a unique opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact projects along side a visionary team, including direct collaboration with the CEO.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in mechanical design and product development. The ideal candidate is passionate about innovation, thrives in startup environments, and has experience launching real, physical products into production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer precise, scalable, and manufacturable mechanical systems
• Apply expertise in thermal, structural, and fluid dynamics to optimize performance
• Utilize SolidWorks(or equivalent CAD tools) for mechanical design and refinement
• Conduct FEA and mechanical simulations to validate and improve designs
• Lead prototyping, testing, and validation efforts to ensure durability and safety
• Collaborate with industrial designers, architects, and manufacturing experts
• Explore and implement cutting-edge materials and production methods
• Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support for mechanical issues

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
• Proven track record of launching physical products into production
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent)
• Experience with FEA analysis and mechanical simulation
• Deep understanding of engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluid dynamics
• Exp. in high-performance product development (e.g., aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics)
• Knowledge of scalable manufacturing processes (machining, casting, injection molding, precision fabrication)
• Experience working in startup environments and on large-scale projects
