Role Overview
Deloitte Consulting LLP's Quality and Risk Management (QRM) group is seeking a Risk Manager with extensive experience in supporting global managed services deals and contract structuring, drafting customized contractual provisions, and risk review, negotiations, operations, and operational aspects of professional services contracts, with an emphasis on information technology/BPO services in support of US clients with Indian global capability centers (GCCs). The emphasis of this role is related to managed services and staff augmentation services provided in connection with our clients' GCCs. The role will span two functions:
- Deal Desk Support, Contracting, and Negotiations
- Ongoing and Post-Execution Risk Management and Contracting Support
- Knowledge Management and Training Support
Key Responsibilities
The role includes:
- Assisting with deal and contract review activities.
- Supporting our sales team with deal and contract structuring, RFI/RFP/Proposals, and contract review, drafting custom provisions, and negotiations.
- Building specialized resource capacity at scale through rebadging, hiring, or subcontracting.
- Providing ongoing client-specific services, including technology services and business process outsourcing (BPO).
- Mastering performance management methodologies and service-specific metrics (SLAs), including understanding market benchmarks and the practical aspects of SLA management.
- Providing guidance around the implementation of a strong quality-control framework as a part of service delivery.
- Incorporating requirements into contracts around standardizing continuous improvement in delivery.
- Addressing the use of transformative digital technologies (including generative AI), analytics, or automation transformations.
- Addressing highly customized commercial arrangements (investment pools, volume discounts, smoothed payments, irregular invoicing methodologies) in a way that is contractually sufficient.
- Intersecting with various functions including sales, legal, finance, and delivery to act as a strategic and authoritative advisor.
- Working closely with deal teams and legal in reviewing and negotiating agreements.
- Assisting with ongoing contracting, risk management, and mitigation support.
- Facilitating continued compliance with contractually required policies and processes and with the firm's internal policies.
- Maintaining knowledge of core professional services (IT, Managed Services, Outsourcing) and product offerings.
- Supporting QRM activities and initiatives focused on the Operate engagement model.
- Developing best practices for systematic risk evaluation and mitigation approaches.
- Identifying and facilitating resolution of independence issues.
- Commercial/financial issues and implications associated with certain Operate constructs.
- Educating and mentoring Core Risk Managers on foundational Operate plays.
Qualifications
A successful candidate will possess these skills:
- Experience with and an authoritative understanding of technology and BPO implementation and delivery.
- Proven track record influencing a diverse set of stakeholders and driving common outcomes.
- Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent leadership skills, including ability to prioritize critical needs, act decisively, and handle a high volume of complex tasks.
- Experience in writing and reviewing scope of work documents.
- Proven willingness to listen and learn, and a consistent record of making and explaining appropriate decisions.
Required Education and Experience
Required:
- Education: BBA/BA/BS in related field.
- Experience Requirements: Minimum 8-10 years of direct contract negotiation for technology services.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
- Education: Masters' Degree.
Compensation
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,300- $322,900. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
