This position is located in Bronx, 10456 and is scheduled for Saturday-Sunday from 7am to 3:30pm. It is a part-time AM/Morning Shift, offering 16-hours. The essential job functions include providing observations, evaluations, and reports to other team members to ensure an individual's progress toward treatment/habilitation goals. Direct support professionals guide and teach individuals to develop skills required for a more independent lifestyle.
Duties include personal care, food preparation, maintaining the environment, individual development, personal interests, participating as a program planning team member, and communication. Knowledge of policies and procedures of OPWDD, state and federal regulations, active treatment programs, and certifications such as AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR, and First Aid are required. A high school diploma or GED, a Direct Support Professional Certificate, and a clean New York State driver's license may be required depending on the shift. Direct care experience with people with mental and/or physical disabilities is preferred.
