Ad Sales Research Manager

Our media client is seeking an experienced Ad Sales Research Manager to join a dynamic Insights & Measurement team supporting advertising and media initiatives. This role focuses on designing and executing primary research studies that inform strategic decisions across streaming, live sports, and major media events, with exposure to entertainment, news, and multicultural audiences. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a passion for uncovering actionable insights in a fast-paced environment.

The Basics

Duration: 3 months

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Onsite in New York, NY (Hybrid schedule: minimum 3 days/week onsite; increasing to 4 days/week starting January 5, 2026)

Top 3 Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as a researcher within a media brand or agency, with proven expertise in primary market research design and execution.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, compelling insights.
  • Hands-on experience with survey scripting and/or data analysis platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Decipher, Quantilope, DisplayR, Crunch.io).

Other Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker with deep interest in advertising/media research, consumer behavior, and media usage.
  • Skilled in mining large datasets and storytelling through data-driven insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative team player focused on building strong relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Supplier-side experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement quantitative and qualitative research initiatives across a portfolio of media brands.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify business issues, define research objectives, and select appropriate methodologies to drive advertiser demand.
  • Develop research instruments such as surveys and discussion guides; manage fieldwork, analyze data, and extract actionable insights.
  • Synthesize and interpret large datasets to uncover trends in consumer viewing behavior, leveraging third-party data for context.
  • Deliver insights using multi-method approaches, including AI-based tools, in an agile and dynamic environment.

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
