The Office of Development (OOD) leads the agency's effort to create and preserve housing in collaboration with other HPD offices as well as other city, state and federal agencies. The Office of Development is composed of eight divisions that administer a range of programs.
The Division of Preservation Finance administers multiple financing programs to improve financial and physical conditions and preserve or create affordability within privately-owned multi-family and single-family buildings. The division oversees programs utilizing low-cost loans and property tax benefits among other public incentives.
As the Operations Intern for the Division of Preservation Finance, you will work closely with the Director of Operations and Deputy Director of Operations to contribute to the division's efforts to preserve affordable housing through process, operations, and policy work.
Your role will be to support the division, the Director of Operations, and the Deputy Director of Operations in divisional management. Responsibilities will be related to division process development or improvement, data tracking, and assisting in policy research. The Operations Intern's responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
Preferred skills include advanced computer skills including competency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong writing and communication skills are also required. Capacity to work on multiple tasks and set priorities is necessary. Interest in data, analysis, and policy research is also important.
