Notably, the ITSD has rolled out various advancements, such as equipping officers with cellular phones applications and digitizing department forms to improve efficiency. The Certified IT Administrator (LAN/WAN) IV role is pivotal in maintaining the NYPD's technological edge and promoting safety and effectiveness in law enforcement operations. The Senior AppDev Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software applications and ensure applications adhere to best practice and coding standards. Responsibilities include: designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications, focusing on web applications, APIs, and other relevant technologies; creating technical specifications based on business requirements and conceptual designs; analyzing code to identify and resolve errors and performance issues; reviewing app, feature coding and planning future website upgrades; leading and managing software development projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards; ensuring team adherence to SOPs, including change management, coding standards, and knowledge management; proactively managing resources to meet department goals; and contributing to the development and execution of functional or departmental business plans.
