The Division of Environmental Health, part of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, aims to prevent and manage illnesses and injuries caused by environmental and workplace health risks. With a team of 1,000 professionals, the Division conducts outreach, education, surveillance, and enforcement across a wide range of areas, including environmental investigations, lead poisoning prevention, occupational health, injury prevention, food safety, childcare, radiation control, water and air quality, climate health, vector control, veterinary public health, and pest management. The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a dedicated and experienced Equine Veterinarian to support its mission of protecting public health through oversight of the city's commercial horse industry.
