Reporting to Executive staff and the Senior Electrical Code Revision Engineer in the Division of Technical Affairs and Code Development, the Electrical Code Revision Engineer will work on electrical code-related issues, and on various technical subject matters. Minimum Qualifications
(1) Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in electrical engineering work; and (2) A valid New York State Professional Engineer's License. Current New York State registration as a Professional Engineer must be maintained for the duration of your employment. A masters degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) may be substituted for one year of the electrical engineering experience required in "1" above.
Preferred Skills
- Candidates with extensive experience in the requirements of the New York City Electrical Code and New York City Construction Codes will be given priority consideration. - Candidates must possess knowledge of electrical engineering principles to facilitate developing electrical provisions. Specifically, knowledge of all aspects of electrical design as it pertains to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes and Standards with an emphasis on the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), etc. to comply with electrical design standards. - Candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, writing and analytical skills. - Candidate must possess the ability to write complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner a writing sample must be submitted with resume. - Candidate must demonstrate ability to work effectively with and motivate project teams and/or committees/boards. -Candidate must demonstrate ability to multi-task and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
