Under the general direction of the Assistant Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the Systems, Innovation, and Engagement Division, with latitude for independent initiative and judgement, the Director of Engagement and Employment Services will serve as an integral team leader and primary project manager for Career Services programs and vendor relations and will be instrumental in advancing our mission of supporting New Yorkers in achieving self-sufficiency. Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or 2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and the one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in "1" above.
Preferred Skills
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in development, workforce development, and/or project management with a sound working knowledge of human services. The candidate must have excellent management skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and have strong interpersonal skills. The candidate must have prior experience in a managerial, administrative, or supervisory position.
