Power Engineer

The role of Power Engineer includes but is not limited to ensuring proper maintenance and reliability of the electrical power systems throughout the plant. The Power Engineer will be expected to coordinate with all areas of the plant on projects and improvements as it pertains to the electrical systems of the plant. The Power Engineer will also assist with education and training of plant electrical personnel, coordinate corrective actions and best practices, and communicate with other divisions on electrical power related issues. This position requires working scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends and holidays. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Accredited electrical degree, accredited electrical certification beyond high school, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in power engineering or electrical maintenance in heavy industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 year B.S.E.E.
  • Five years of power engineering and/or power systems maintenance experience
