The team lead role for critical facilities operations and maintenance is an entry level management position, ensuring the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and improvements to the physical infrastructure of the data center. This role provides training, expertise, and experience to their critical facilities operations/maintenance team(s). Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance. This team lead role is accountable for supervising team(s), fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on achieving operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include: supervising data center technicians and facilities technicians, operating and maintaining data center to assure optimal uptime to customers, complying with all local, state, and federal requirements for fire, health, and life safety, providing daily operations and maintenance scheduling, ensuring the CFOps team works effectively to achieve goals, analyzing data center equipment for maximum effectiveness and efficiency, conducting in-depth training with the data center technicians, managing and maintaining all training documentation, ensuring data center operates at maximum efficiency, working with customers to provide successful installs, supervising the safety and well-being of all CFOps team, managing shift assignments, timekeeping review, and PTO approval, writing and reviewing non-critical and critical method of procedures, standard operating procedures, and standard method of procedure, supervising the execution of non-critical and critical method of procedures, and performing other duties as assigned.

To thrive in this role, you need to have background in electrical and mechanical systems design review, layout, installation, commissioning and operations, knowledge of low voltage systems, including fire, security and PLCs, knowledge of NFPA electrical, fire and life safety and building codes, knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25 and compliance issues, knowledge in industrial safety best practices, experienced with data trending/tracking and analysis, entry level supervisor skills, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, hands-on experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting large commercial and industrial mechanical and electrical systems, academic qualifications and certifications, and required experience in data center and/or critical facilities.
